Several weeks ago I attended my high school reunion. As most of us know that can be a time of angst in a woman. Any gal knows there are three things that can wreck havoc in our world at these events, if given the opportunity – Weight, Wrinkles, Wardrobe. Once I got the wardrobe set for the 3-day affair and Spanx to keep the wiggles from dancing on their own, I addressed those pesky fine lines aka. Wrinkles! I visited the Dior counter at Nordstrom in Northpark for a miracle makeup session and Parvine and Sona, my fairy godmothers, went to work with a wave of their wands (makeup brushes) and I left feeling like Cinderella.
Sona introduced me to a new fall 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette that I just fell in love with. Look at the colors on this palette. (below) I know you are thinking – ah…red??? like I did at first, but I saw the magic she performed by on my eyes and I am a believer! Using a 5-color palette used to be intimidating for me. I usually just used the colors I liked and skipped the others, but the fun and magic is in creating the canvas on your eyes using all of the colors – even RED! There are tutorials on line for two different looks – natural and sophisticated that can be created using these pallets, too. This palette and all the other 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Pallets feature a variety of textures such as matte, satiny, iridescent, sultry and shimmery. Hint: For a natural look use the upper trio of shades in this order – upper left, middle, and then the far upper left. For a little more sophisticated look apply the bottom two colors to the outer corners of your eyes. Blend, blend, blend. With this palette, when the red is mixed with the maroon you get a gorgeous shade of brown that really makes your eyes pop!
For an even more spectacular gaze, apply the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara from the roots to the tips of the lashes. Light application of mascara to the lower lashes using a lash separating brush allows the gaze to be opened up a little more by accentuating their curl and definition.
At the stroke of midnight, or there about, when I arrived home I looked in the mirror one more time. Cinderella down the drain. But! with my newest addition to my beauty bag – Dior’s 5 Couleur Palette I was ready for day two and three and beyond. After all, you don’t always need your fairy godmother to look amazing for the ball. Reach for her when you need a prince.
