Mascara Event Roundup

So, were you able to attend the Mascara Madness gala at Nordstrom last month?  As you know it’s one of my favorite events North Park’s Nordstrom in addition to their yearly Beauty Event where you can stock up on favorites and fall in love with new products as well.  I was there of course (and so was Tim McGraw, too, I must add with a sigh) and picked up some new mascaras and now one of them is a new love.

My purchase choice this round were: Dior Addict It-Lash … love the comb brush, Diorshow Iconic Overcurl…  great brush that is also a curling wand, YSL Shocking!  and what every girl wants a 2-week sample – Makeup Forever’s Smoky Extravagant Mascara.

And more! When it comes to mascara, you can’t go wrong with any mascara by Dior.  I just haven’t found one I don’t like so they are a staple in my makeup bag. Addict It-Lash has a got a great comb/brush that gives you the opportunity to comb through your lashes and make them longer… and longer… and….  Iconic Overcurl is applied with a curling wand to give you the option of making your lashes longer and look as if they have been curled with a wand.  And DiorShow Iconic… well, it’s what makes those candlelight dinners even more special when you bat those lashes. I’ve got to mention Make Up Forever – it has a really unusual wand.  It actually looks more like a Christmas tree which takes a little practice to learn to use, but it works – eventually.  But, my new love is YSL’s Shocking!

The whole name…Yves Saint Laurent – Volume Effet Faux Cils Shocking Mascara has been my daughter in love’s favorite for over a year now.  So I had to try it this time.  It adds volume and length and you can build it, too.  The fine-tipped bristles catch every lash, no matter how short or fine they are, and its glossy formula creates full-on voluptuous lashes. It washes off easily with soap and water and I have had no trouble with it flaking or smudging.  Available in six different colors including Black Bronze and Black Burgandy, so you can have some fun with highlighting your overall look. And don’t forget: when you combine your lashes with Diorshow’s Lash Plumping Primer almost any mascara works for your eyes. But!  It’s always fun to find one that can work alone, too as this one can easily do.

So!  Get your eyes ready for the holidays.  You never know who might be looking deep into your eyes by night’s end.
