So? Did you see Good Morning America’s feature on Dermaplane two weeks ago? Interesting.
Dermaplane is in many ways like Microdermabrasion. It may be a treatment that you haven’t heard as much about, but it’s very effective and patients see wonderful results. An aesthetician or technician uses a surgical blade along the surface of the skin to lift and slough away dead skin skins, which encourages cell turnover. The face is pink to red afterwards, but there is no pain involved during or after the procedure.
Like Dermaplane, Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure that is performed at a skin spa or dermatologist’s office. Both procedures exfoliates the dead skin layer and can soften the appearance of fine lines and will leave your skin looking bright, toned and healthy. Both can also be combined with a chemical peel as well.
As I mentioned in my last post, I had a Microfacial as I prepared my face for a New Year’s Eve party. I love the feel of my skin after this procedure which is actually microdermabrasion followed by a facial. Following that procedure, my skin feels clean… really clean. And! It allows my products to penetrate more deeply into my skin, which makes them more effective. I usually schedule one 3-4 times a year. With the expense of some of these serums that we use we want to get every benefit possible, do we not?
Each of these exfoliating treatments is non-invasive and require no down time. The procedures take about 30 minutes and each will leave your skin feeling smooth and looking bright, as well. But it’s important to make sure they are performed by a licensed aesthetician with experience and knowledge of the skin so the end results are exactly what you and your skin wanted to achieve.
