Retinol Love

Chantecaille Retinol Intense Night Cream is one of those amazing creams that you love, really love applying to your face.  It is a light, non-greasy, fluffy-type cream with a barely-there fragrance.  I received a nice sample of it a couple months ago and just loved the feel of my skin after my first application.  Now that it’s become a staple in my nighttime facial routine, I can tell you that it does change your skin’s appearance and the feel of your skin within a few weeks.

Since this cream is applied only at night the Chantecaille Beauty Advisor said this is when our skin is at its optimal levels of regeneration.  That was good enough for me since I know it is rejuvenating my skin from the inside out since it’s retinol based. It will also continuously release retinol directly to the deepest layers of the skin for a 24-hour period which will boost our collagen production.

As you know the major side-effect with any retinoid product is irritation.  They exfoliate your skin from the inside out and during the process our skin can before extra sensitive or even breakout slightly.  My dermatologist had me start my Retin-A treatment process by using a pea sized amount once a week and increasing each week by one day.  I did not have any problems with breakout just a slight sensitivity as it became a part of my daily routine. I still don’t use this Retinol Intense Night Cream every night at this point, but I am seeing a difference with the two combined in the firmness and contour of my skin.

Once you make the commitment to improve your skin, stay true to your schedule and routine.  Just remember that while in treatment you will need to apply a sunscreen to your face when you are outdoors.  Enjoy those 15 minutes of  ‘sun time’ each day and immerse yourself in the Vitamin D it offers.  Just don’t overdo it! It’s then you will reap the rewards in healthy, toned skin each time you look into the mirror.
