The Bucket List

The Bucket List.  More specifically MY Bucket List.  Unlike Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman in the movie by the same name, I continually add to mine… and every so often I mark off a few items that I have finally completed.  You see,  I still want to learn to speak French like my mother since it is part of our heritage, but so far I can only say about 6 things with a Texas accent, of course.  And!  I am still working on my study of wine for my sommelier license.  Maybe one day before I am 80 I can mark that off the list, too. So I ask you. Have you ever had your make-up applied by a national makeup artist?  If not, put it on YOUR Bucket List, girlfriends. Not only is it fun, you walk out ready for a date night and most likely you have snagged some fabulous new products as well.

Guerlain Beauty Advisor and Makeup Diva, Meredith Myers, at Nordstrom North Park called with an invitation to meet Guerlain’s Celebrity Makeup Artist Marcus Monson.  (aka. The Beauty Guy).  I love time shared with Meredith, so I said sure.  Not only was Marcus good-looking, charming and knowledgeable, he is a true master when it comes to creative makeup.  Remember the Terracotta Bayadére’ Face & Eyes Contour Palette we discussed a few weeks ago?  Marcus loves bronzer as much as I do, I think, and he reminded me how to apply it for just the right effect: imagine that you’re drawing a number 3 on your face. Bronzer should go along the hairline/upper forehead, just below the cheekbone and just below the jawline.  By adding a little more to your cheeks will boost color, too. More tips? Marcus can be viewed on YouTube where he shares his makeup and skin care tips. Totally worth viewing!

Also, I have never been able to successfully apply eyeliner to my eyes in the new ‘under the upper lash’ fashion.  I wear contacts like many of you and I my eyes just ‘water’ when I try to apply it.  Marcus assured me Guerlain’s Kohl Contour Eye Pencil made it simple and he was right.  I CAN and DO line my eyes a whole new way now.  This is a very soft kohl liner pencil, which easily adds color to your lid and the bottom water line.  Plus! It will stay the entire day.

Bucket Lists.  If you don’t have one – start one now. And! be sure to include a visit to your favorite department store and enjoy some quality time with a Makeup Artist.  I promise – It will be your ‘smile’ for the day.

If you smile when you are alone, then you really mean it. ― Andy Rooney
