Well, it’s November and it’s time to begin my Christmas shopping…. whether it’s online or in the stores, I thoroughly enjoy it. I am a shopper at heart. In person? Online? I love it all. And, sure, there are pros and cons so I thought I’d share a little of my thoughts on that subject.
First of all when I visit my favorite stores, I love the feeling that goes with holiday shopping. Unless it’s the mad rush of a sale, people are happy, the specials are good, I can stop and get some peppermint cocoa or pumpkin spiced latte and then keep on going… much like the energizer bunny. That’s me!
But, there are times that I love the slow easy pace of online shopping. I can compare prices, look for some awesome deals and I can still have my latte and cocoa, but I am “cook” instead.
If you have a Beauty Advisor at your favorite store, you know they can offer suggestions if you are in the store, AND! they can take your orders from online as well. If you have an extra special one like I do, you still get the personal shopping and your samples as well. Find one if you don’t have one, and make that a priority as a gift to you. I have two beauty advisors at Nordstrom North Park in Dallas that I love and adore. Lauren with DDG Skincare usually takes care of my skincare needs and contacts me when she knows some of my favorite national reps are in town so I can meet them. Meredith with Guerlain is also located at Nordstrom North Park and she is the best when it comes to makeup artistry.
Today I spoke with Meredith and gave her an order. She will take care of my ordering my products which will be shipped to me free since it is Nordstrom. But! Nordstrom is just one option. Sephora, Macy’s, Neiman’s and so many others offer online shopping, but if you need direction or suggestions, you need your own Beauty Advisor. Just go to your favorite shopping venue and introduce yourself if you don’t have a connection yet. Get to know them, express your wants and your needs and let them prepare a client card for you. You won’t have to remember everything you like/want. They will – as they refer to your client card.
So give yourself the ‘gift’ of a Beauty Advisor this year before the holidays even begin. If you are in the Dallas area I highly recommend Lauren and Meredith. I have worked with these girls for years and not only are they highly professional they are just the sweetest ever to work with. They will not only be your elfs they will become your friends.
And now – it’s time to shop!
