Christy or Megyn

So I am curious.  Did you watch Christy Brinkley on Megyn Kelly a few weeks ago?  I am a fan of both of these women.  Twenty years apart in age, but their beauty is classic.  Christy radiates beauty from within and coupled with Megyn it was a feast for the eyes for skincare addicts like me.

What are they using? When an audience member complimented Christy on her skin tone and firmness during the interview she raved over her new RECAPTURE 360 Night Anti-Aging Night Treatment.  Of course she would, it’s her business, but I was intrigued.  I was low on night cream and this one had just the ‘goodies’ in the cream I am a fan of, so I ordered

As we all know, nighttime is the best time to support our body’s natural repair cycle and to replenish our skin of things lost during the day. Recapture 360 Night Treatment supports the body’s repair of UV damage and replenish your skin with moisture.  Christy mentioned it helps firm, smooth, and rejuvenate our skin while we sleep. Over the days ahead you will wake up with skin that looks younger, firmer and newly defined.

So here we are a week or so later and I must say the creaminess and texture of this cream is amazing and my skin feels so good the next morning. It works as a good neck cream too, so that is a plus!

Price points are good and so is this product.  Now if I could just look like Christy when I pick up the mirror tomorrow!

Smooth…

So I am wondering… do you ever look into the mirror some mornings and just think ‘if I could smooth this spot out and make my pores look tiny again?’

I’ve got one spot on my cheek that make me occasionally wish I could just have my own personal microderm fairy available for days like this?

Well, I have found something that’s close… and ‘she’ won’t require her own bedroom or eat your all your favorite food… it’s Dr. Brandt’s Pore Dermabrasion Pore Perfecting Exfoliator, aka. ‘the large pore eliminator.’ With a blend of professional-grade physical and chemical exfoliators, this creamy wash deep cleans pores to slough away the excess oil and impurities that enlarge them. Salicylic acid breaks up oil and debris and encourages the shedding of dead skin cells to boost clarity while hyaluronic acid maintains moisture levels to keep your skin from drying out and flaky patches from forming.

How to use… First of all, I dampen my skin with water. Slowly and gently I massage for 1 minute avoiding the eye area this allows 1-2 minutes to activate and deep clean pores. Then, be sure and rinse well and pat dry. Use 1-2 times per week, allowing 3 days between applications otherwise I think you would find this very drying to your skin.

Check out other reviews on Dr. Brandt’s site and you, too, will be amazed.  Yes, there are price points on there, but you only need to use a little!

Be smoother… and smile!

Highlight Your Glow

If you have been reading Wrinkle Me Not for a year or more you KNOW how I love the ‘glow’ year round, but especially once the season changes from winter to spring.  If you are in the northeast reading this blog you probably think I am crazy.  I truly apologize.  I know the weather over the last month or two has been cold, snowy and just plain dreadful.  But, here in Texas today, we are going to top 88 degrees.  You see, we don’t go from winter to spring here – we jump right into summer!  Last weekend we still had the heater on at night, but today its a/c and plenty of it.  The golf courses are busy and so are the plant centers.  I have worked all morning on planting flowers and cleaning up the beds.  But I regress…

Yes, I love the glow!  I was at Nordstrom yesterday during Triple Poin weekend picking up my Glow pads from DDG Skincare, but also got some beautiful highlighters  – one in a compact by Anastasia and one by Hourglass, which is a cream.

Vanish Flash by Hourglass is a highlight stick.  It goes on creamy so you can spread it on your cheeks, forehead and nose.  It comes in 5 shades – Champagne, Pink, Gold, Rose Gold and Bronze.  I picked up Champagne and Pink!

And! I also got the Amrezy Highlighter from Anastasia which I must sayI love, my friends. The limited edition highlighter is an illuminating powder that achieves the perfect glow. With the feel of second-skin, this ultra-smooth formula delivers a radiant finish and reflects a light, brilliant gold.

But let me say this.  If you have dry skin the cream is great and its staying powder is the best.  I think once summer gets here (and that may be tomorrow here) and it’s in the 90’s to 100, I will probably skip the cream highlighter and go with the staying power of the powder.  Though I must say I love the versatility of both products.

Of course, you still need to add the glow factor! Always Girls!

Be My Glowing Galentine

So my sweet Galentine, do you have your Valentine ‘glow’ yet?  We know it is not coming from the sun these days, so it’s time to grab the perfect skincare duo to help us out a little. Gotta glow on Valentines’ Day, right?

With the day for love just days away, this is the perfect time to pick up some Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pads.  I love the look it gives under my foundation!

Plus! My new love is Alpha Beta Glotion for Body which means you can actually ‘glow’ from head today right in the middle of winter! Love it!

Alpha Beta Glotion is a self-tanning body moisturizer that gives your skin subtle, streak-free radiance and a firm, youthful appearance. Its formula gives you glowing results in as little as 1-3 hours. Note the ‘streak free’ description because it will do just that.  No streaks!

After you apply your ‘glow’ pad, wash you hands thoroughly and then smooth this lotion evenly over clean, dry skin morning or night daily or as needed.  Again, wash hands after application. It will make your hands orange, but not your face!

Happy Valentine’s Day to you!

Smile. Spread the love wherever you go! – Pintrest

Salt Your Bath

So, I guess it was about four years ago, I became a huge fan of Dead Sea Salts.  As you may have heard, the waters of the Dead Sea have been renowned for their therapeutic effects since ancient times. It’s interesting to note that the waters from the Dead Sea are unique too, in that they contain 27% of various salts as compared to 3% in normal ocean water. Furthermore, while sodium accounts for approximately 80% of the salt content of normal sea water, it comprises much less of the salt total in water from the Dead Sea. In fact, the concentration of salt in this body of water is reported to be over ten times that of the oceans. Imagine that. Ten times!

Here in the USA many people use Epsom salts during the winter months to help with the dryness and flakiness of their skin as our body endures the cold temperatures.  Like this morning…temp was 26 degrees again:  I had a facial Thursday afternoon and remarked to my husband my skin was flaking again.  It’s an ongoing circle until spring and it’s humidity arrives.  Dead Sea and Epsom salts vary in source and composition as well. (Epsom salts are much finer than the chunkiness of salt from the Dead Sea) Epsom salts, were made famous by the mineral baths in Epsom, England and may be derived from a variety of natural sources; however, to be labeled Dead Sea mineral salts the salt must come from the Dead Sea. It’s like that a bottle of California Pinot Noir.  If it says Napa Valley on the label, the grapes must be grown only in Napa Valley.

I use dead sea salts exclusively.  I purchase them in a very large bucket from Whole Foods and they last about 6-8 months plus I do not use them all year long.  Just the during the dry weather of winter.

So, don’t forget to pamper yourself and your skin during these cold winter months as much as you do in the summer. Whether you are using Epsom or Dead Sea Salts as the base, your silky smooth skin will be your reward.  And as I always suggest… add a glass of Napa Valley Cab or my favorite, Pinot Noir, to that shelf next to your salts and a candle or two.  You can thank me later.

Adios 2017

There’s something about the holidays that seems to make everything sparkle whether it’s the decorations on the trees, in the malls or in our hair or makeup.  That glow lifts spirits and adds an eretheal glow to any ocassion.

So before we say good by to 2017, which I hope has been a special year for you, I wanted to share one more favorite product of mine that is great for daytime use, but when it’s nighttime, it’s oh so much better!

Naked’s Urban Decay Smoky has become one of my favorite pallets when it comes to eye shadow.  Anything under the Naked pallet line is pure fun always and this one will not disappoint with it’s 12 beautiful colors!

One side of the tray feautres four colors with a very light touch of glitter to open your eyes during the day, but when used at night with a little heavier application will turn your eyes into drama!

The center of the pallet tray features those blues, violets and grays which will add that ‘smoke’ to your look and will make your eyes look spectactular!  They are my favorite colors for daytime, too.

And! As you get to the other end of the pallet you see the beige/creams for your upper lid. Use those for daytime either alone or with your midpallet blues and violets for some daytime intrigue.

However you spend your New Year’s Eve, add some sparkle to your beautiful eyes – even if the light is provided by the glow of the fireplace due to some wintery weather outside.  Celebrate the upcoming new year and bid a fond farewell to the one that we wrap up.  It always it is about family, close friends, and you, right?

It’s Beginning to Look Like the Holidays

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go…and indeed it is!

So, last Sunday I attended the Nordstrom Holiday party by invitation only and what an event it was.  My plus one was my sweet hubby who really enjoyed all the food (and there was plenty of it) along with all  the festivities.  I, on the other hand, filled my shopping bag several times over with gifts for my girls and I must admit a few bags with several of my favorites.

You know how I love the ‘glow’ – year round, but especially during the holidays, right? Well, there is something for every ‘glow girl’ this year!

Charlotte Tilbury has the amazing Wonder Glow cream which she calls ‘instant soft-focus beauty flash’.  This is a primer girlfriends, but it adds a subtle glow to your foundation and has a beautiful finish.

Anastasia Beverly Hills has a Glow Kit as well.  This glow kit comes with four beautiful metallic powder highlighters for intense luminosity. These powders are so much fun to work with. Just layer the highly blendable shades together or wear them separately on the eyes and body for a total radiant look.

My favorite eye shadow kit this year is by Urban Decay – Naked Pallet for smoky eyes.  I love the colors and these too are so blendable for either day or night.  By the way I use youtube instruction videos to create different looks with this pallet and to help me not look ‘over’ done for work.  Love. It!

And, or course my ‘go to’ … Dr. Dennis Gross Glow Pads.  I have used these pads for over five years and they are always a staple on my shelf.  Yes, I picked up more at the holiday party, because they are the best ‘pick me up’ when it comes to needing a new glow.

Whatever ways you decide celebrate the holidays with a glow whether it is from the outside or from the inside remember to always finish it with a smile!
