Let’s Twirl!

If you see me twirling… it’s for one of two reasons.  My Dallas Cowboys have won their football game or I have just found my next favorite beauty product.  Oh how I wish it was my Cowboys, but alas, it is spring and we are months away from a football game.

So!  Here’s my news and I must, MUST share it with you.

As many of you know I am a huge fan of the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Pads.  I have used them for over 5 years and never miss a day without my ‘peel’ so you can imagine my delight with the introduction of DDG Skincare’s Alpha Beta® Exfoliating Moisturizer!

When skin is renewed through exfoliation and then replenished with intense hydration, the effect is synergistic.  I can actually SEE and FEEL my hydrated skin, refined texture, and improved appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The patented blend of Alpha Beta acids in this pore-refining formula accelerates cell turnover and lifts away surface dullness. This exfoliating action allows moisturizing ingredients to strengthen the moisture barrier and deliver hydration where skin needs it most, for up to 72 hours.

This moisturizer can be used in the morning and evening. I massage a small amount into my clean, dry face, neck and décolleté. For optimal results I use it right after the Alpha Beta Peel Pads which can be in the morning or evening depending on how fast I ‘rise and shine’ each day.

Packaging states to give this new product about 4 weeks to see results, but I promise you WILL see them. Then, you can twirl with me!

I Feel Pretty!

The following is a Guest Post by my dear friend, Linda Thurman.  Thank you Linda for joining our circle!

Years ago I had the privilege or working with Lancome’s leading make-up artist & creative director, Ross Burton.

One season he did a red line which included red blush in both powder & cream formulas.  By this time I’d worked in the industry long enough to know that while the colors were startling, they would probably look great on the face.
It wasn’t long before the cream formula became my personal favorite because it lasts and it doesn’t have the drying appearance of powders.  The red looked great on most complexions, giving them the subtle rosy glow that children have & we long for.
A bit over a year ago I ran out of my stockpile and vainly tried to find a cream blush in that shade.  Finally I resorted to using a lipstick.

Fast forward to an article about Gabriela Hernandez in the London Daily Mail.  (
Ms. Hernandez has developed this elegant line of colors based upon the timeless colors of the 20th century from the 1910 – the early 1960s and combined with the technology of today.

Who doesn’t remember the simple elegance and beauty of our stars like Claudette Colbert, Lucille Ball, Kathryn Hepburn, Dorothy Lamour, Rita Hayworth, and Loretta Young to name a few?  While beautiful, these women were no fragile, fainting flowers.

After reading the article, I had to look up Besame, which means “kiss me” in Spanish.  I’d say “big mistake”, but I loved what I saw.  And, glory be, Besame offers a red cream blush, or as our mothers & grandmothers would have said, rouge.
I was also intrigued by the scents she offers, each based on the popularity of the scents of a particular decade.
In short, I ordered the blush, Vanilla (translucent) Brightening Powder (which doesn’t doesn’t look cake-y on the skin), and a sample of the scents.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the products and will be ordering more.  The price point is great, they have great pigment, wonderful quality, and if they are scented, the scent is natural, not chemical, and so light that I don’t notice it (a must for me).
All of the products are designed & made in the US.

Be My Glowing Galentine

So my sweet Galentine, do you have your Valentine ‘glow’ yet?  We know it is not coming from the sun these days, so it’s time to grab the perfect skincare duo to help us out a little. Gotta glow on Valentines’ Day, right?

With the day for love just days away, this is the perfect time to pick up some Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pads.  I love the look it gives under my foundation!

Plus! My new love is Alpha Beta Glotion for Body which means you can actually ‘glow’ from head today right in the middle of winter! Love it!

Alpha Beta Glotion is a self-tanning body moisturizer that gives your skin subtle, streak-free radiance and a firm, youthful appearance. Its formula gives you glowing results in as little as 1-3 hours. Note the ‘streak free’ description because it will do just that.  No streaks!

After you apply your ‘glow’ pad, wash you hands thoroughly and then smooth this lotion evenly over clean, dry skin morning or night daily or as needed.  Again, wash hands after application. It will make your hands orange, but not your face!

Happy Valentine’s Day to you!

Smile. Spread the love wherever you go! – Pintrest

Adios 2017

There’s something about the holidays that seems to make everything sparkle whether it’s the decorations on the trees, in the malls or in our hair or makeup.  That glow lifts spirits and adds an eretheal glow to any ocassion.

So before we say good by to 2017, which I hope has been a special year for you, I wanted to share one more favorite product of mine that is great for daytime use, but when it’s nighttime, it’s oh so much better!

Naked’s Urban Decay Smoky has become one of my favorite pallets when it comes to eye shadow.  Anything under the Naked pallet line is pure fun always and this one will not disappoint with it’s 12 beautiful colors!

One side of the tray feautres four colors with a very light touch of glitter to open your eyes during the day, but when used at night with a little heavier application will turn your eyes into drama!

The center of the pallet tray features those blues, violets and grays which will add that ‘smoke’ to your look and will make your eyes look spectactular!  They are my favorite colors for daytime, too.

And! As you get to the other end of the pallet you see the beige/creams for your upper lid. Use those for daytime either alone or with your midpallet blues and violets for some daytime intrigue.

However you spend your New Year’s Eve, add some sparkle to your beautiful eyes – even if the light is provided by the glow of the fireplace due to some wintery weather outside.  Celebrate the upcoming new year and bid a fond farewell to the one that we wrap up.  It always it is about family, close friends, and you, right?

It’s Beginning to Look Like the Holidays

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go…and indeed it is!

So, last Sunday I attended the Nordstrom Holiday party by invitation only and what an event it was.  My plus one was my sweet hubby who really enjoyed all the food (and there was plenty of it) along with all  the festivities.  I, on the other hand, filled my shopping bag several times over with gifts for my girls and I must admit a few bags with several of my favorites.

You know how I love the ‘glow’ – year round, but especially during the holidays, right? Well, there is something for every ‘glow girl’ this year!

Charlotte Tilbury has the amazing Wonder Glow cream which she calls ‘instant soft-focus beauty flash’.  This is a primer girlfriends, but it adds a subtle glow to your foundation and has a beautiful finish.

Anastasia Beverly Hills has a Glow Kit as well.  This glow kit comes with four beautiful metallic powder highlighters for intense luminosity. These powders are so much fun to work with. Just layer the highly blendable shades together or wear them separately on the eyes and body for a total radiant look.

My favorite eye shadow kit this year is by Urban Decay – Naked Pallet for smoky eyes.  I love the colors and these too are so blendable for either day or night.  By the way I use youtube instruction videos to create different looks with this pallet and to help me not look ‘over’ done for work.  Love. It!

And, or course my ‘go to’ … Dr. Dennis Gross Glow Pads.  I have used these pads for over five years and they are always a staple on my shelf.  Yes, I picked up more at the holiday party, because they are the best ‘pick me up’ when it comes to needing a new glow.

Whatever ways you decide celebrate the holidays with a glow whether it is from the outside or from the inside remember to always finish it with a smile!

Hey There Bright Eyes!

Watching the news for 30 minutes is tough these days.  Not only is the news sad and discouraging, so are the all ads!  The evening news is the worst as we hear everything that could or will go wrong with our bodies as we age.  Depressing!

But there is a BRIGHT spot.  When it comes to skincare we are winners!

As we all know developing eyelid wrinkles is common as we age.  And!  As in anything else we do genetics can also play a role in developing our wrinkles especially on our face and around our eyes. Ugh!

I am so thankful we have such wonderful skincare available to us to help lessen the effects of what I call ‘creases’ in our skin.  I never liked the word wrinkles.  When I was a teenager I had to do a lot of ironing for my mom and I always envisioned I was removing wrinkles in the pillow cases! Creases were on our face!  Oh those were the days!

Modifying lifestyle factors, such as exposure to cigarette smoke and harmful sun rays, reduce our risk for developing these creases. Of course, the decreased production of natural oil in our skin as we age makes the eyelid skin appear more wrinkled. Repeating facial expressions around the eyes also leaves fine lines and wrinkles. As a result, skin loses flexibility and has a difficult time returning to its place.

It’s time to rethink certain habits, such as always drinking with a straw (wrinkles around the mouth) or squinting because you forgot your sunglasses (crow’s feet). The skin around your eyes is thin and delicate, making it more prone to those awful creases!  Try to avoid pulling, tugging or stretching that skin each night and choose makeup products that go on and come off easily. As a contact lens wearer I have learned to be cautious not to tug too hard on my eyelid skin when putting in my lenses as well.

“When your eyes look younger, your entire face appears more youthful”. That is the tag line Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare has attached to their new eye cream and serum and honestly I have to agree totally.  C+Collagen Brighten + Firm Eye Cream and Serum.  The super hero eye duo!

I picked up these jewels at the Trend Show last month with Karen and I must say this energizing eye cream which is infused with vitamin C complex dramatically improves the look of tired, aging eyes. It instantly works on fine lines and eye creases and brightens dark circles. I use it after my Alpha Beta Peel Pads and Glow Pads when my skin is clean and ready for treatments.

I apply it in the morning and at night. This super duo can be used around the eye in the orbital area too.  I would suggest however doing the whole eye at night and then under eye only in the morning. When I applied the cream over the whole eye in the morning it did affect my eye makeup.  So just a word of caution if you wear eye makeup like me, use this at night only! Then you can wake up and be amazed at the transformation in your… uh creases – or lack of!

As a side note – Jimmy recently told me about a really cool Beauty App from Sephora.  You can do virtual makeovers and when you find one you like, click on the products and put them in your cart!  I went to Sephora and had the Beauty Stylist apply the products on me and wow! I love this cool way to shop! Great idea Sephora! ** (Then quickly grab your phone and take a selfie while you look fabulous!)

Trend Show With Karen

Half the fun of attending Nordstrom’s Trend Show each year is having my shopping diva and good friend, Karen with me!  We have been friends for over 30 years and have shared some memory making times together.  Some of those memories include trend shows, makeup, shopping and lunch.  Others… well you know what they say… “what happens with us – stays with us” and I will leave it at that.  Big smile.

Over the last few week’s I have begun to tell you about several of my favorite new products here at Wrinkle Me Not and I asked Karen to do the same.  So yesterday she surprised me with two reviews of her favorites – so I want to share them with you!

Hi, I am Karen. I would like to tell you about Dr. Dennis Gross Instant Radiance Sun Defense Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 with Sheer Color Correction Technology.  The DDG skin specialist told me I should not leave the show without trying it!  She applied the medium tint and I immediately loved the moisturizing glow with a hint of shimmer on my skin!  I have been wearing this daily for almost a month and have recently applied it before heading to the pool.  With an SPF of 40, it kept me from sunburn while adding the shimmering Glo to my face, neck, and décolleté.  I rarely go outside without makeup (even just to get the mail), and in the past, I have always worn a sunscreen plus a foundation and blush to the pool, which left me feeling a little silly with all of that makeup.  Not anymore!  The Dr. DG Instant Radiance Sun Defense allows me to be SPF protected AND it covers imperfections and blends uneven skin tone.  I am confident wearing only the Dr. DDG Instant Radiance Sun Defense anywhere I go!  You need to try it, Judy.  Be sure and get the right shade for your skin coloring because you want to look a wee bit darker than you are.  I have a feeling I will be using this year around because it blocks those UVs and gives my skin a healthy looking Glo!

Another product I found in my goodie bag from Nordstrom Trend Show is Lancome La Base Pro Pour Eraser.  I have enjoyed many Lancome products for years so when I found two generous samples, I was delighted!  I immediately noticed the soft texture and it feels like silk on my skin!  It actually does minimize and erase pores but also I noticed a huge improvement in my oily T-zone.  Normally I powder my nose several times a day but with the Lancome La Base Pro Pour Eraser, I was surprised to find it covered and kept my skin looking and feeling fresh throughout the day and evening!  I actually like it better than Dior’s Dream Skin!

So there you go!  My two favorite finds from Trend Show but I have so many samples yet to try, I’m sure I will find more treasures and keepers!
